What is TestDisk?
TestDisk is a free, open-source program for partition problems — a partition that was deleted, a disk that suddenly shows as unallocated, or a drive that no longer boots because the partition table or boot sector is damaged.
It runs in a simple text interface. It is very powerful, so read each screen carefully: writing a wrong partition table can make things worse. If in doubt, make a disk image first.
